Week 12 thank you

Have just finished Week 12 of Learning 2.0, this online program has opened up a whole new world for me.

Whilst it at times it has been challenging, I have learn't so much. Whilst I won’t use all the technologies that we have worked through I can see the use of many in my school library.

Week 11: Online applications and tools

Using my gmail I logged into Google Docs, created an account and uploaded a PDF file of my school newsletter that was created  last year. Some of the formatting was lost which is a problem. I would use this application to have my newsletter edited  which would save time and money.

Week 10 Mashups

Enjoyed doing this, it was a lot easier to do than I thought it would be. A Mashup could be used in the library when promoting a book or  an activity that was to be held in the library - it would add interest.

Week 9: Podcasts and Audio

Our library would and should use Podcasts more often. At the moment we send CD and DVDs out to students. There will always be a place for CD and DVDs  movies and long musical pieces but for short pieces podcasts would work well.  A Podcast in our school environment would be used, when a student was unable to some into the school for a study day it would give the student a form of inclusion.

Week 7 continuing LibraryThing

Enjoyed this exercise. LibraryThing has some beaut features

LibraryThing

Week 7 tagging del.icio.us and Technorati

Here is my link to the del.icio.us web site http://www.delicious.com/Ottis2.

There is potential of this tool for research assistance - students could add what they have found in their research

Went to the Technorati web site and keyword searched for bookmobile and found only one post. Couldn't find the advance search feature but went to 'refine this search' and found six posts.  Searched for nswpln2008 and had no results. I must be doing something wrong but no sure what.
